The Dancing Fetus
Hello my Most Treasured Loved Ones.
The ultrasound was incredible today! Josh and I were a little bit nervous and excited all at the same time. Since today was an internal ultrasound (which is just a fancy way of saying the scary word “VAGINAL” I had to warn my husband ahead of time so he knew to stay up by my best end. Then the really funny thing happened, the doctor stuck the wand where the sun don’t shine, got this funny look on her face. Then she said “looks like your huge bladder is in the way, you must have to go pee” where I frantically responded “but I just went, and I really don’t feel like I could pee again” then she said “trust me, you have to go pee, do whatever you need to, but your bladder is so full I cant get around it. And since I was stripped naked from the waist down, I had to wrap the sparse, flimsy and totally see through tissue around me, and tiptoe out of the safe, dark room into the the blinding hallway where delivery men were speeding by with their hand carts, and frazzled nurses were power-walking by me causing my thin, yet protective paper barrier to blow up in all directions, and here I was supposed to pee when I didn’t have to. Needless to say all went well, I got the remaining liquids out, returned to the bed-of-embarrassment, and low and behold, this time the bladder wasn’t in the way. Right off bat our doctor saw the heartbeat, our eyes were glued to the screen, holding our breath we searched for any familiarities. There he/she was! Moving and shaking, and waving to us, she/he even did a little shimmy, and I have to say they are already blessed with the gift of rhythm. We saw its tiny little heart beating rapidly in its chest and the doctor turned up the volume and the heartbeat was SO loud and SO fast, and filled up the tiny room we were. We witnessed the first sounds of life today, and in an instant everything became so real. I couldn’t believe how much he/she was squirming around yet I still can’t feel anything. Our doctor said we couldn’t have asked for a better ultrasound. We are so excited we haven’t been able to stop looking at the pictures, although they seem so much more defined when they’re on the big screen in front of you.
Well family, I just wanted you to get the latest on the newest addition. We find out if it’s a boy or girl on March 29th, so stay tuned.
Love you all and can’t wait to talk to you soon.
p.s. were sorry but no pictures yet of the fetus. We will get them posted shortly.
