Happy Easter. Love, Madelyn

Dear Easter,
I loved the sun that came streaming though my windpw this morning. I loved the beautiful dress Mamma put me in for Church. I could have spent hours discovering the pastel eggs hidden behind trees in my front yard. And though blustery, I squealed with delight every time my discoveries paid off with yummy jelly beans and chocolate eggs. Dear Easter, Ive never eated so much candy in my life, yet was surprised yet again waking from my afternoon nap to find more hidden eggs, cupcake decorating, and gifts galore, all for ME! Dear Easter, though distracting as it is to remain caught up in the wonder of pinks, greens & blues, glittery stickers of bunnys, and the wonder of adventuring for eggs, I promise that once Im older and can comprhend, I will discover the TRUE meaning of Easter. Instead of plastic eggs and bunnies, the day will be filled with thoughts of the MAN who gave his life upon a tree one blustery day so that I might have eternal life. I am young now, but one day when I am older I will realize that these beautiful holidays that seem so ENTIRELY about me now, will mean so much more than any eggs, or chocolate, or presents under a tree ever could. My mamma & daddy owe HIM that and SO MUCH MORE.
